Susan (Sukey) Krause is the current Director of the Midwifery Education Program at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, where she has been on faculty since 1992. She has been in full scope clinical practice since graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990. She is active locally and nationally on initiatives to increase and diversify the midwifery workforce.

She is invested in efforts to address maternal mortality, racial disparities and health equity. She is a partner in Midwifery Education Design and Development, founded in 2017 to provide consultation services that support alternative program designs for midwifery education. She is excited to join the Board of Tapestry.
