Drug Checking Services

Tapestry’s drug checking team tests samples and shares results directly with the community — free, confidential, and available at select Harm Reduction sites.

Drug Checking Services

Tapestry is part of a growing movement in Massachusetts to advance community drug-checking initiatives.

Our drug checking team tests samples and shares results directly with the community. Results are fully confidential and available within 1 week: in person, by phone, or online at info.streetcheck.org/drug-results.

We use fentanyl, xylazine, benzodiazepine, medetomidine, and nitazene test strips, plus FTIR technology to analyze samples. Free fentanyl test strips are also available to take home at all Harm Reduction locations.

Frequenlty Asked Questions

Who Is This For?

Anyone 18 and older who uses drugs and wants to know what’s in their supply.

No appointment, no ID, and no questions are required.

If you don’t use drugs yourself, you can still support. Share this information with people who might need it, carry Narcan, and help reduce stigma through education.

Why Drug Checking Is Important

Drug checking gives people real information about what is in their supply so they can make informed decisions and reduce their risk.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine. It is a major contributor to fatal and nonfatal overdoses across the country and is increasingly found in a wide range of drug supplies.

Xylazine, medetomidine, levamisole, and other substances are also showing up locally and can cause serious harm.
