Julia Mathis (she/her/they/them) grew up in suburban Maryland, just outside Washington, DC. She attended UMass Amherst, where she double majored in Political Science and Spanish, and later earned a Master’s degree in Public Policy.

As a graduate student, Julia co-authored a published research on abortion access. Julia works as the Administrative Coordinator at The Venture Out Project and comes from a background in state government and community organizing.

Julia is passionate about expanding access to equitable, affordable, and affirming healthcare. Julia enjoys coffee breaks, reading, musicals and art festivals, journaling, and spending time by the Connecticut River, and lives in Northampton with her cats, Bernie and Harriet.
