Amale Barbara Neary is a seasoned healthcare finance executive with more than 35 years of leadership experience in nonprofit healthcare and human services. She served for 24 years as the senior financial leader at Berkshire Healthcare Systems (now Integritus Healthcare), a leading non-profit provider of post acute care, long term health care and senior housing. She joined the Center for Human Development in 2014 until her retirement in 2026 as Chief Financial Officer, where she provided strategic financial leadership through a decade of significant organizational growth. Amale brings extensive expertise in financial strategy, governance, risk management, and organizational transformation. She previously served as Chair of the Finance Committee for the Public Health Institute of Western Massachusetts and for ten years on the Finance Committee of The Captive Advantage, a nonprofit healthcare captive insurance organization.

Throughout her career, Amale has been drawn to organizations that improve the lives of vulnerable individuals and strengthen communities. She believes that sound financial stewardship and strong governance are essential to helping mission-driven organizations fulfill their purpose and expand their impact. Amale began her career in public accounting with Price Waterhouse Coopers before transitioning to nonprofit healthcare. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Bentley University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
